Ainsworth, Dorothy S. (Dorothy Sears), 1894-1976

This series consists of twelve boxes of correspondence and transcripts with and by the interview respondents. These are filed alphabetically.

Dorothy Sears Ainsworth was Professor and Director of Physical Education at Smith College. The papers contain biographical material, speeches, lectures, organizational notes and correspondence, student papers, subject files, publications, photographs, and awards.

International athletic association. The International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women Records at Smith represent the U.S. branch of the organization. The collection includes histories, including information about Dorothy Ainsworth; documents pertaining to various IAPESGW congresses and conventions; and IAPESGW bulletins, newsletters, and reports.

Ainsworth responds to Clarke's (Elizabeth Crocker Lawrence) letter regarding the dates that the gymnastic cup was presented by Clarke at Smith. Ainsworth was interested in a letter Clarke wrote to Miss Grierson about a quilt.
