Abstract
Documenting Lesbian Lives is a collection of life histories with people who consider themselves to be (presently or at one time) lesbian, queer or bisexual. The project provides a complex and nuanced collective story of American lesbian history and experience. In this oral history, Becky Lukens talks about growing up in the Midwest and her family’s response to her coming out. She talks about her experiences during Oregon’s Ballot Measure 9 campaign, and her involvement in activism because of it. In the last third of the interview, she talks about faith, and the formation of family.
