Abstract

Melanie Tervalon is a noted activist, physician, and educator, a former member of the Third World Women’s Alliance, Angela Davis Defense Committee, and Venceremos Brigade, and creator of the “cultural humility” framework for anti-oppressive medical care. The collection consists of speeches made by Tervalon, primarily on reproductive health and other medical issues of importance to women and the Black community. Also includes biographical information about Tervalon.
