National Board and executive committee minutes and reports, 1935 January-1938 May
Scope and Contents
Minutes and reports of the National Board of the YWCA of the U.S.A. and its executive committee. Minutes concern national business, budgets and finance, committee business, resolutions and recommendations and personnel. In addition, materials may include reports from committees, reports of programming and method, and summaries of conferences and conventions. Documents show an increased discussion and focus on world affairs and efforts towards peace, as well as labor issues and the labor movement. As the financial situation of the YWCA continues to be tight, meetings address financial needs, reorganization and employee needs. Implementation of unemployment insurance is discussed and studied in 1937 including a proposed plan in December of 1937.
