Scope and Contents
Minutes and reports of the YWCA of the U.S.A.North Central Field Committee covering Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa. Reports from the industrial, student, city and county, foreign, and office secretaries assess the condition of existing associations and populations served, make recommendations for improvements, summarize their trips and comment on the general needs of the regions. Executive secretary reports summarize the work of all field secretaries and the focus of their regional work. Committee minutes record meeting procedures to authorize and discuss budgets, and pass motions relevant to the department. Early work in the north central field centers on meeting the needs of new associations, aiding the development of established ones and uniting the field under the purpose and mission of the national YWCA of the U.S.A. World War I brings a focus on war work for all girls and increased needs in the areas of industrial work and work with foreign and immigrant women.
