South Atlantic Field Committee minutes and reports, 1907 May-1921 December
Scope and Contents
Minutes and reports from the YWCA of the U.S.A. South Atlantic Field Committee. Field committees unite local associations under the general purposes and missions of the National YWCA, assist with emerging and established local associations, arrange conferences and camps, and oversee fundraising campaigns. Materials also include reports from field secretaries. These narrative reports summarize work with local associations, make recommendations and requests for personnel and finance, report on association program, assess the state of local associations, and assess the needs of local populations. The South Atlantic Field Committee begins with student association work and expands into industrial, in particular work with mill villages, as the needs arrive. In addition, reports include the field's African American secretary for field work with African American women and their branch associations.
