Data and Trends Committee and Economic Committee minutes and reports, 1914-1943
Scope and Contents
The Data and Trends Committee of the YWCA of the U.S.A. meets to discuss requests for new studies and data concerning the work of the YWCA of the U.S.A., determine how they prioritize requests, discuss their relationship to other parts of the national organization and discuss how to promote and use the information collected. Meetings of the Economic Committee of the YWCA of the U.S.A. concern the financial concerns of associations including equipment purchase and use, building and property maintenance, cafeteria management, boarding home and hostess house management and the employment of staff. The committee makes recommendations for best practices in management, provides advisory services and reports on visitations to local facilities and associations.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
