Scope and Contents

The Industrial Committee of the YWCA of the U.S.A. is concerned with the overall program and emphases of industrial work, cooperation with other organizations, cooperation with other parts of the YWCA of the U.S.A., communicating the needs of the industrial woman to local associations and the National Board, and maintaining awareness and understanding of the concerns of the woman industrial worker. Prior to 1940 the Industrial Committee is a sub-committee of the Leadership Division. After 1940 it becomes part of the Community Division.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant.
