Scope and Contents

Regional councils of the National Student Council of the YWCA of the U.S.A. are responsible for regional policy making, maintaining the relationship between local student associations, the National Student Council and maintaining the regional budget and staff. Beginning in 1933 the regional councils of the student YMCA and YWCA combine to form the Southwest Council of Student Christian associations to facilitate and coordinate a collaborative relationship. Southwestern Regional Council meetings and reports include discussion of regional conference plans, reports from commissions and committees, discussion of the social, economic, religious and political issues affecting its members, and budget and staffing reviews.

These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
