Scope and Contents

Stenotype and printed proceedings for the Ninth National Convention of Young Women's Christian Associations of the United States of America. The detailed proceedings follow the convention meetings, discussions, and addresses from the opening remarks to the final adjournment. Business sessions present arguments for and discussions about proposed changes to the constitution in addition to other issues to be decided at a national level. A strict democratic procedure is followed to nominate and vote on board and committee members and accept presentations and reports. Other presentations include reports from the city, student, industrial, and business groups, updates from international work, discussions of the membership basis and more. The featured speaker, Rev. Charles Gilkey, addresses the delegates each day regarding the role of Christianity.
