Conventions, sixteenth, 1939-1940
Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the student assembly at the Sixteenth National Convention of the Young Women's Christian Associations of the United States of America. Delegates from student associations meet to unite behind National Student Council goals and aims, vote as representatives of their associations on matters of national business and discuss topics unique to their groups. The assembly of the Sixteenth Convention focuses on the role of student associations in the YWCA of the U.S.A., their structure and organization, standards of affiliation and the student associations' relationships to other organizations such as the YMCA. Dr. Gregory Vlastos gives the closing worship service emphasizing the role of religion in their work and in social movements.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
