Scope and Contents

Stenotype proceedings of the convention hearing, "The Work of the National Board in Other Countries, Trends, Issues, Program--Our Responsibility," at the Seventeenth National Convention of the Young Women's Christian Associations of the United States of America. Those in attendance at the hearing are charged with being representatives of the convention as a whole to discuss and decide upon actions regarding the work of the Foreign Division. Representatives from the Philippines, the Netherlands, China, Brazil, Syria, Lebanon, Estonia, France, Belgium, Egypt, and India give a brief description of YWCA work in their countries, opportunities for more work, and how they were affected by the war. Following the presentations and discussion the hearing passes a motion to endorse the National Board's efforts to raise two million dollars for the YWCA of the U.S.A. Foreign Division.
