Scope and Contents

Pages 301 through the end of the stenotype proceedings of the Eighteenth National Convention of Young Women's Christian Associations of the United States of America. Convention business sessions are a chance for delegates representing local associations to hear presentations and reports and vote on their adoption, adopt resolutions regarding YWCA activities or political standings, and elect leadership. The adoption of the public affairs program is included in this section of the proceedings. Matters of public affairs reflect the tense international climate by stressing the importance of democracy and civil rights in addition international relations. Also included are the remarks to the convention audience from representatives of group discussions including the Industrial Assembly, Business and Professional Assembly, Student Assembly, Foreign Division, YW Wives, Y-Teen, the Health Education Department, and the agricultural women.
