Conventions, nineteenth, 1952 May
Scope and Contents
Official proceedings and actions of the Nineteenth National Convention of the Young Women's Christian Associations of the United States of America. Proceedings follow conventions sessions from opening remarks through final adjournment with speeches and group discussions documented in other reports represented in later microdexes. Every three years delegates representing local associations convene to unite under a common aim, adopt resolutions, elect leaders, and discuss matter of national importance continuing to have an international focus in the post war political climate. Democracy and the meaning of citizenship is discussed throughout. In addition, convention sessions include presentations from special groups such as public affairs, employed women, students, agricultural groups, Y-Teen, YW-Wives, and more.
