Czechoslovakia, 1920
Scope and Contents
The "Recreation survey of Prague," published by the Ministry of Social Welfare, is a report of the study of recreation and leisure time activities in Prague concerning the importance of "wholesome play" and healthy recreation as a way to provide alternatives to alcohol, gambling, prostitution, and juvenile crime. The study examines current recreation opportunities at home, in social clubs, in gymnastic and dance organizations, at commercial establishments and at libraries and museums. Following the study of existing conditions and "play leadership," suggestions are made as to how to improve recreational opportunities and leadership.
