Scope and Contents

Printed materials from Y.W.C.A. of India, Burma and Ceylon associations, documents concerning fundraising efforts and documents concerning properties. Printed matter from Bombay, Calcutta, Colombo, Madras, Rangoon and Simla are comprised largely of annual reports. These associations work with women and young girls to improve their spiritual, physical and intellectual well-being through programming, housing opportunities, job training and more. YWCA of the U.S.A. support of the YWCA's in India is often of a financial nature. Fundraising efforts lead by the National Board, support building campaigns and training opportunities. The National Board keeps record of those who have pledged and who may have interest. Properties are used as training centers, YWCA buildings, and hostels to provide safe housing for women.
