India, circa 1919-1941
Scope and Contents
Correspondence with YWCA secretaries in India including secretaries from the Y.W.C.A. of India, Burma and Ceylon, YWCA of the U.S.A. and other international YWCA organizations. A long established cooperative relationship with the Y.W.C.A. of India, Burma and Ceylon consists of the sharing of training and leadership, coordinating visits abroad, and requests from India for financial or personnel support. Letters concern the travel plans and accommodations of secretaries in India and the United States in addition to fundraising efforts. Some correspondence may include programs and clippings regarding local events or updates on specific aspects of local YWCA efforts. For American secretaries serving in India, correspondence may also include matters of compensation, furloughs, and other logistics of working for an American organization abroad.
