Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the finance, development and program of young women's Christian associations in Argentina. The YWCA in Buenos Aires is partially supported by the YWCA of the U.S.A. through finances and by sending staff to serve as leaders, advisors and trainers. Correspondence and reports update the Foreign Division of the YWCA of the U.S.A. of the current activities of the YWCA, assess future needs, evaluate the effectiveness of the program, request further support or resources and make travel arrangements. Beginning in the 1930's the YWCA in Buenos Aires finds themselves in heavy debt with increasing demands on their programming. The YWCA of the U.S.A. consults in these matters and makes special grants to the association. Additional correspondence and reports include general reporting and planning between the YWCA of the U.S.A. Foreign Division and the secretaries and associations in Argentina.
