Documents concerning the 1944 eastern region Girl Reserve conferences. Girl Reserve, the YWCA club for adolescent girls, is an opportunity for girl to meet and to develop their spiritual, physical and intellectual lives through social activities, camps, leadership training and classes. Regional conferences bring together girls from different backgrounds and Girl Reserve clubs across a region to unite under common purpose, discuss matters important to them in their daily lives and personal growth and develop leadership skills to bring back to their home clubs. Correspondence and meeting minutes concern the planning of the conference accommodations and programs. Reports and evaluation forms assess the success of the conference and report on the response from the attending girls. Other materials include preparatory materials sent to delegates prior to conference, worship and devotional services, summaries of conference sessions and lists of delegates and leaders. Virginia, North and South Carolina and the Southeast region have separate African American Girl Reserve conferences.
