Girl Reserve conferences, 1931-1932
Scope and Contents
Conference materials for the 1931-1932 Girl Reserve secretaries' seminar followed by records of the central, eastern, southern, and western regional Girl Reserve conferences arranged in that order. Regional conference materials include post-conference evaluations and reports and pre conference planning materials. Girl Reserve, the YWCA club for adolescent girls, is an opportunity for girl to meet and to develop their spiritual, physical and intellectual lives through social activities, camps, leadership training and classes. Conferences for Girl Reserve secretaries and advisors are a place for sharing methods and ideas, discussing the issues faced by young women and participating in training activities. During conference girls participate in recreational activities and discussion and leadership training sessions. Discussion groups address the social, spiritual and political issues affecting them and address ways to approach these issues in their lives. Following the conferences participants and leaders assess the accommodations, content and activities through reports and feedback forms.
