Household employment, 1934-1940
Scope and Contents
Materials for local household employee associations alphabetical by city for Elizabeth, New Jersey through Knoxville, Tennessee. Surveys distributed to employees and employers seek out information regarding wages, duties expected, living conditions, expected hours in a workweek, and other matters of household employment. Clippings, letters, and reports demonstrate the YWCA's efforts to work for fair employment for domestic workers and their service as a training and social club for those workers.
