Scope and Contents

Documents concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. Industrial Department committees, inquiry commission and constituency. Committee materials address operations of the committee, personnel matters, discuss program initiatives with industrial and employed women, note policy changes, and report on efforts made for industrial work and workers. In addition, the committee handbook is included, outlining the purpose, functions, goals, and organization of the committee. The Inquiry commission documents detail research methods employed to gather data and case study materials from industrial girls. Included in the documents are correspondence and materials relating to a correspondence course offered to secretaries learning more about the research methods used. Finally, constituency reports and recommendations concern fostering an inclusive club and obtaining a cross section of women members from various race, economic, social, religious, and foreign backgrounds. Reports analyze current issues with inclusiveness, discuss possible strategies, and report on certain demographics reached by industrial clubs.
