Industrial conferences, 1918-1920
Scope and Contents
Documents concerning national conferences of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Industrial Department. Conference proceedings, and programs provide an overview of topics discussed, resolutions passed, lists of participants, and general overviews of the conferences. Conference discussions include matters of child labor laws and practices, opportunities for women seeking work, wages and standards of living, unionization and what that means for workers, work towards a minimum wage, hours of work in a standard work week, treatment of workers in various industries, and other matters.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
