Scope and Contents

Convention materials for the meeting of The National Association of Employed Officers of the YWCA of the U.S.A. (N.A.E.O.). As the employee association for secretaries in the YWCA of the U.S.A., the N.A.E.O. meets to discuss fair labor practices, job evaluation and standards, employee relationships, diversity and job security. Also included are reports and notes from the Professional Standards Committee concerning their efforts to encourage and enable associations to adopt fair professional standards and the proceedings of the discussion of personnel standards held prior to the national YWCA of the U.S.A. convention in Minneapolis.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
