Scope and Contents

Documents concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. summer school courses. To develop leaders within the YWCA of the U.S.A. and offer development opportunities for those interested in association and social work, the YWCA of the U.S.A. Department of Study coordinates summer training courses. Courses are offered on YWCA of the U.S.A. association method and administration and in cooperation with universities and professional schools courses are offered on social work and group work. Evaluation forms from students provide insight into their experiences while narrative reports, pamphlets and outlines concern the content and organization of the courses.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
