National Board, 1929-1938
Scope and Contents
The Program Committee of the National Board of the YWCA of the U.S.A. is responsible for developing a knowledge of the whole program of the YWCA of the U.S.A. so that it may study the needs of the organizations and local associations and make recommendations of priority and direction to the National Board. Letters and reports concern special requests for additional budget or secretaries for programs in addition to reporting on the needs of girls. Meeting notes and minutes concern the development of the committee and their decision making process. In response to changing economic conditions during the Great Depression, the Special Committee to Study the Functions and Responsibilities of General Administration is formed. Their report makes recommendations on the organization of National Board administration and the delegation of responsibilities.
