National Board program planning study, 1934-1941
Scope and Contents
Reports and documents concerning the YWCA of the U.S.A. National Board Program Planning Study. Program planning studies are used by the Program Planning Committee and the National Board to gather information to assess the current program and inform decisions about the future programming needs. Input and reports from the National Student Council and leaders concerned with room registries respond to the current national program, assess how the program is or isn't meeting their needs and make recommendations for future emphases. The results of the program planning studies are compiled and assessed in reports to the National Board. Other documents include correspondence concerning the purpose and aims of the study, articles and reports concerning the program planning studies, meeting notes and planning materials.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
