Regions, 1934-1950
Scope and Contents
Correspondence, minutes and reports from the southern and northwestern regions of the YWCA. Regional offices collect information from local associations, assess association needs and performance, assess regional social and economic needs, share information with local associations and report to the National Board on the region's performance and needs. Reports include assessments and summaries of the status of local associations. Northwestern regional materials include the "Report of the Norwest Project," a special project to collect data and information from small and emerging associations and compile a report to strengthen the associations, encourage new association growth and cooperation with YMCA's.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
