Student conferences, circa 1885-1947
Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the planning, finance, assessment, proceedings and location of conferences of student associations of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Student delegates meet at conferences nationally and regionally to united under common cause and purpose and to discuss the social, economic, political and religious problems facing them. Documents include budgets and financial records, correspondence and notes regarding conference sites and the re-allocation of the New York and New England region, conference proceedings and reports, conference planning guidelines and reports of conference assessments. The microfilm target is erroneously labeled microdex four and should read microdex five.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
