Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the constitution and governance of student associations of the YWCA of the U.S.A.The National Student Assembly, the governing body of the National Student Y.W.C.A., appoints a commission to study the standards of affiliation to the national organization and following this appoint a purpose commission to recommend a new statement of purpose for student associations of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Documents include proposed standards and purpose statements, minutes and reports of the comissions, pamphlets and articles that explain the proposed changes and membership handbooks. The microfilm target is erroneously labeled microdex six and should read microdex seven.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
