Scope and Contents
Documents concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. work in normal, private and professional schools as well as program and policy documents for the National Student YWCA. Reports, notes and minutes concerning work with normal, private and professional schools include discussion of their relationship to the National Student YWCA and other student associations, descriptions of the work and activities at those types of institutions, problems and challenges unique to the groups, and updates from specific institutions or regions. Policy and program documents include program handbooks and policies of relationship with other organizations, student groups in different types of institutions, and policies of regional student commissions.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
