Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the Middle Atlantic regional council of the National Student YWCA and Student Christian Movement. The regional council acts as a body between the National Student YWCA and national student movement organizations and the local student associations. Council meetings discuss the regional emphases and programming, make recommendations and resolutions, hear updates and reports from local student associations and events and discuss leadership and staff needs. The council's commission on ethnic minorities studies and reports on the issues of race on college campuses, collects information and seeks to increase interest in the problem of racism. Similarly, the Commission on social action collections and disseminates information, and increases awareness participation and interest in social action.
