Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the Southern region of the National Student YWCA., including the Atlanta Intercollegiate Council, student forums, issues of race and inclusion, and leadership meetings. Minutes and report from meetings addressing race and inclusion address the racism and segregation problems of the southern region as they apply to college campuses, the student YWCA and YMCA and include matters such as the interracial practices of conferences and conventions, upholding the national policies regarding race relations and racism, methods for working together and facilitating change and the experiences of students on southern campuses. Regional council meetings of the Southern region of the National Student YWCA concern the unique needs of the students in the region, facilitate the adoption of national emphases and programs and assess the needs of the region. Programs and proceedings of regional leadership conferences concern the role of Christian organizations and leadership in the current world situations, how to be a Christian leader and how to contribute to social change.
