Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the YWCA of the U.S.A. National Board constitution and bylaws, current and past board members and efforts to update the information files on National Board leaders. The governing documents of the National Board dictate the purpose, structure and administration of the National Board and undergo changes as needed to reflect current direction. Copies of these documents are accompanied by notes regarding proposed changes and amendments. Around 1951 Anna V. Rice begins a project to evaluate and updates records held on current and past National Board leaders. Her correspondence includes updates on her project, requests for information discussion of the scope of her work. Records present for National Board members include correspondence concerning resignation or notable events, brief profiles, obituaries and examples of work. National Board member documents are divided by living and deceased and arranged alphabetically by last name within each category.
