Documents concerning the YMCA of the USA North American Assembly on YMCA Work with Youth, YMCA of the USA studies and the role of women and girls in the YMCA of the USA. The North American Assembly on YMCA Work With Youth is a gathering of YMCA of the USA leaders to discuss the youth program, the needs of youth in North America, training needs for leaders working with youth and the social, political and economic conditions affecting youth. Assembly preparatory materials and reports prepare the delegate for the topics of discussion and presentation and summarize and assess the assembly content. Additional assembly materials include a roster of attendees, the assembly program and a pamphlet for Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y world service fund raising projects. Similar to the YWCA of the U.S.A., the YMCA of the USA is a national movement comprised of many local associations. To inform the national organization's program and maintain awareness of the needs of its members the YMCA of the USA conducts studies and reports on the results. Microfilmed reports concern the role of a program for women and girls in the YMCA of the USA, YMCA of the USA branches and their buildings and rural and country associations. Also included is a guidebook for conducting studies of local associations that includes sample questionnaires. Additional YMCA of the USA materials include a statement of policy on work with women and girls in local associations, a report on the relationship between YMCA of the USA local associations and community chests and a letter from the YWCA of the U.S.A. concerning unauthorized uses of their program names.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
