Scope and Contents

Minutes and reports of the committees of the National Student YWCA, the student movement of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Committees carry out and administer the program and purpose of the National Student YWCA through actions, reports and policy making. Committee materials include descriptions of committee responsibilities and relationship to the national organization, lists of members, minutes and reports of committee meetings and discussions, budgets and pamphlets. Also included is a pamphlet about the Committee on Friendly Relations Among Foreign Students and a letter acknowledging their receipt of a grant from the National Board of the YWCA of the U.S.A.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
