Scope and Contents

Documents concerning National Student Councils of the YMCA and YWCA (NSCY) summer projects. NSCY summer projects combine work experience, discussion sessions and group living to offer student participants a chance to expand job experiences, develop personally and spiritually and meet students from other associations. Summer projects focus on different areas of development and experience including the federal government processes and legislators, community service, social work, employment in industry and leadership development. Seminars during the programs address the role of the Christian organization as it relates to the project's area of focus, the social context of the community of work and the role of the Christian student leader in these areas. Reflections and reports evaluate and summarize the summer projects while notes and outlines provide project content information. In addition, director and leader reports include project evaluations and address challenges that may have arisen.
