Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the work of the National Student YWCA in the Pacific Southwest including committee minutes and reports, constitutions, and advisory and regional council documents. Minutes and reports of regional council and committee meetings concern the administration and management of the student Christian association work at a regional level. The joint council and committees meeting with the Student YMCA support local associations in their development and implementation of national program, consider staff needs and workloads, manage the regional budget and maintain an awareness of regional needs. The purpose and function of the Regional Student Council of the YWCA in the Pacific Southwest is defined in its constitution.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
