Scope and Contents

Minutes and reports from general assemblies of the United Student Christian Council (USCC). The USCC, a member of the World Student Christian Federation, unites student Christian organizations in the United States to build Christian community on campuses and support the member organizations' shared goals. Reports from the 1958 general assembly are reflections written by two delegates from the YWCA of the U.S.A. Detailed minutes are available for the entirety of the 1957 assembly and appendices include reports submitted to the assembly and the text of assembly speeches.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
