Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the World University Service, an organization created to increase international understanding between college and university students through sharing resources and knowledge and by bringing together students and leaders from diverse backgrounds. The general mission, function and programs of the World University Service can be found in their annual report, meeting minutes and introductory pamphlet. The World University Service has a complex relationship to the International Union of Students (IUS) and an ongoing question of its commitment to the values of the World University Service. Debate about the IUS's open seats in the World University Service and additional aspects of their relationships is documented in meeting minutes, notes, statements, resolutions and memorandums. The documents include statements from member organizations and the IUS in addition to relevant background information on the history of the World University Service and its relationship to the IUS and other organizations over time.
