Scope and Contents

The YWCA of the U.S.A. Committee to Study National Membership Policy develops a project to study membership practices in local associations in order to assess the variety of membership practices and develop practices to strengthen membership across the organization. Responses from the associations selected for the study outline their membership policies and practices and may also include case examples and discussion of the role of members. The case studies from the project ultimately inform a membership practice guidebook compiled by the Community Division of the YWCA of the U.S.A. for use in local associations.
