Buildings, circa 1959-1970
Scope and Contents
Policies, handbooks and other documents concerning the use, maintenance and management of YWCA of the U.S.A. buildings and the buildings of local associations. Handbooks outline policies and suggest best practices addressing legal and practical aspects of building ownership and occupation. Following the disaffiliation of several associations that merge with their local YMCA, the YWCA of the U.S.A. released a set of documents outlining policies concerning merged associations and associations sharing a building with the YMCA. These documents address the reasons for disaffiliation the merger associations and established guidelines for acceptable cooperative relationships, especially for those associations sharing space with a YMCA. Additional documents include proceedings for a maintenance personnel workshop and a handbook for associations purchasing or being gifted a house.
