Convention, 1964 , 1964
Scope and Contents
Documents concerning the twenty third YWCA of the U.S.A. National Convention delegates, convention forums and pre and post convention meetings as well as the convention's program. Delegate materials include letters and memorandums sent out to prepare delegates for convention and meeting notes from the committee and organizing staff responsible for delegate accommodations and arrangements. Following these materials is a packet summarizing forum topics for the convention. Forums are group discussions targeting specific issues. Delegates are instructed to note their preferences and will be places in forum discussion groups. Notes from small group post convention meetings address the expectations members have of each other, expectations of the national and local organizations and the responsibilities of the YWCA of the U.S.A. member in the current social and political times. Also included are announcements and letters concerning three topical post convention meetings. One discussing the role of Christianity in the purpose of the YWCA of the U.S.A., a second examines issues surrounding "sex morality" and the third is a discussion of the responsibility of the leader in regards to convention actions. Pre convention meetings occur regionally across the country and are designed to prepare delegates and associations for the content and discussions of the national convention. These meetings are documented in notes, reports, programs and outlines. Finally, the convention program outlines the daily schedule of the convention and contains general logistical information for attendees.
