Scope and Contents
Official report of the twenty third National Convention of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Every three years delegates representing local associations convene to unite under a common aim, adopt emphases for the coming triennium, adopt resolutions, elect leaders, and discuss topics of national importance. The report summarizes general convention sessions including actions, reports from divisions and groups and business sessions. Speeches from principal guests are not included in the report but can be found summarized in the June, 1964 issue of "YWCA Magazine" and the report's forward further explains what is and isn't included in the convention report. This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.
However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
