Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the National Student Assembly and National Young Adult Assembly of the YWCA of the U.S.A. Assemblies meet at national convention time as the national representative body of their constituent groups. During assembly sessions they discuss the pressing problems facing their groups, vote on program recommendations, engage in leadership development and submit reports to the convention. Like convention itself, assemblies are a chance from delegates to meet other members from across the country and internationally and exchange ideas and skills. Documents of the National Student Assembly include session minutes, a summary report of the assembly sent to all student associations, lists of delegates and an assembly agenda. For the National Young Adult Assembly, documents concern preparations for the assembly such as completed credential application, rules of procedure, statements of purpose and memorandums to young adult groups. An outline of young adult program priorities for the 1964-1967 triennium offers some insight into the results of the assembly.
