Scope and Contents

Correspondence and reports concerning programs of young women's Christian associations in Africa. The YWCA of the U.S.A. as part of the world's movement of YWCA's and the international organization, World YWCA, participates in this network of associations by offering support to associations, maintaining an awareness of YWCA work and needs in other countries and sending representatives abroad to aid in development. Correspondence and reports from visiting secretaries include program updates and description of any relationship between the association and the YWCA of the U.S.A. Annual reports and conference reports from associations provide program overviews and insight into the life of the YWCA some African nations. Additional correspondence concern requests for financial support. The documents are arranged alphabetically by nation beginning with Botswana and ending with Nigeria.
