Scope and Contents

Documents concerning the programs and development of young women's Christian associations around the world. The YWCA of the U.S.A. as part of the world's movement of YWCA's and the international organization, World YWCA, participates in this network of associations by offering support to associations, maintaining an awareness of YWCA work and needs in other countries and sending representatives abroad to aid in development. Correspondence and reports from visiting secretaries include program updates and description of any relationship between the association and the YWCA of the U.S.A. In addition, these correspondence and reports place the work of the YWCA in the social, political and racial context of their surroundings with personal descriptions of their view of the world around them. Documents are grouped alphabetically by country or area of work beginning with Burma and ending with Hong Kong.
