Scope and Contents

Documents concerning organizations outside of the YWCA of the U.S.A. doing work with international interests, peace, religion, and social work. The YWCA of the U.S.A. maintains an awareness of other organizations doing work within their scope and often collaborates with these organizations, attends or contributes to hosted conferences and seminars or shares skills and resources. Correspondence between the organizations may address the nature of the relationship and the types of work that are of interest to the YWCA of the U.S.A. as well as position statements and project updates. Conference reports reflect the contents of the programs and the YWCA of the U.S.A.'s contributions or participation. The materials are grouped by type of organization and then by eac organization within that type. The entire microdex appears twice.

This collection is open for use without restriction beyond the standard terms and conditions of Smith College Special Collections.

However, by agreement with the YWCA of the U.S.A., microdexes known to contain financial records or personal health information (usually on job applications) were not digitized and/or not published in our online repository as part of the CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. These microdexes may still be accessed on the original microfilm, and digital files may be made available to individual researchers upon request.
