Scope and Contents

Documents concerning two National Student YWCA summer projects and a proposed Cuba summer project. The Caribbean project introduces student participants to social, economic and educational issues in Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico and encourages increased mutual understanding through seminars, cooperative experiences and observation. Project reports summarize and assess the program and participants and additional materials include completed application packets, schedules and communications sent to participants. The East Asia project has a similar function with a special focus on exploring the status of women in the countries visited. A majority of the reports are from the Korea portion of the trip but reports exist for Japan and Hong Kong as well. Additionally there are correspondence and itineraries. The Cuba project is introduced in a letter and proposal that also include a blank application form.
