Scope and Contents

National Student YWCA minutes and reports on summer projects, National Student YWCA publications, and reports on the study of the purpose of the National Student YWCA. Summer project programs offer domestic and international opportunity for student participants and their leaders to engage in community activity, learn about another culture or area and explore issues of education, politics and social problems with other students and leaders. Reports summarize and assess the many summer project programs and additional materials include rosters, planning committee minutes and general correspondence. The bulletin "Blurb Sheet" is a supplement between issues of the "Interac." It summarizes public affairs platforms and position statements of the YWCA of the U.S.A. and the National Student YWCA. There is also one issue of "Underdog," a student YWCA staff newsletter. The purpose study examines the current purpose statement of the National Student YWCA evaluating it's effectiveness of capturing the nature of the organization, comparing it to the purpose statement of the YWCA of the U.S.A. and exploring the possibility of moving towards a single organization-wide statement.
